Global Community Tennis Association Inc. (GCTA) is a non profit organization established in December 2007 with volunteer board of directors operating under $5,000 budget. It was founded by Mrs. Julie Panton. It is a community tennis association member of the United States Tennis Association Inc. (USTA) and the USTA Florida Foundation Inc.
GCTA's mission is to provide after school tennis programs for the underpriviledged youth.
Our Goal is to empower at-risk, underserved and underprividged youths to learn the game of tennis beginning with elementary school, middle school and progressing on to high school. Through GCTA we hope to increase participation in the game of tennis especially in the African American, Asain, Hispanic, and Native American communities. GCTA believes that families should have access to community centers where their children can participate and learn the game of tennis and the life skills necessary for the promotion and development of their maximum potential.
The Vision of GCTA is that children in Pinellas County will have a future for a more successful and satisfying life through the support of the unlimited tennis training until their maximum potential is reached. We hope to empower these boys and girls to make better decisions and healthier choices in life. As they learn the game of tennis, they are also learning valuable life skills that will serve them well into adulthood.
